Configuring Login Warning Banner

You can configure a login warning that users view when they log in to Netsparker Enterprise.

  • The banner provides security and legal notices to users accessing the system. It notifies them that they are subject to monitoring. So, it may incur legal penalties for inappropriate or unauthorized use of the system.
  • You can select a predefined warning banner or you can add your custom banner in Netsparker Enterprise. Please note that you cannot edit the predefined warning banners.

This topic explains how to configure and customize a login warning banner in Netsparker Enterprise.

You must be an account owner or administrator to configure this setting. Or, you must have the Edit General Settings and View General Settings permissions. For further information about permissions, see Managing Roles in Netsparker Enterprise.

How to configure a login banner warning

  1. Log in to Netsparker Enterprise.
  2. From the main menu, select Settings > General.

  1. From the Login Warning Banner drop-down, select one of the following options.
  • (Not Set): Select this option if you do not want any banner to be displayed.
  • Custom: Select this option if you want to add a customized banner. (For the custom banner, see How to customize the login banner warning)
  • Predefined Warning Banners: Select one of the predefined banners if you do not want to customize the banner. These warning banners include the Nuclear Regulatory Commission Office, the Internal Revenue Service, and the Unified Compliance Framework.

  1. Select Save.
Before saving the warning banner, you can select Preview to view how the banner will appear.

After the warning banner configuration, users view it whenever they log in to Netsparker Enterprise. They must select the Accept, Continue button to continue using the application. If they don't accept the banner, they cannot use the application and see the pages.

How to customize a login banner warning

  1. Log in to Netsparker Enterprise.
  2. From the main menu, select Settings > General.
  3. From the Login Warning Banner drop-down, select Custom.
  4. Select Customize.
  5. On the Federal Warning Custom Banner page, add your warning banner to the banner field.

  1. Select Save.
Before saving the customized warning banner, you can select Preview to view how the banner will appear.
