The RSA Conference is one of the high points of the year for the security industry, with market leaders and industry experts coming together to shape the future of security. Netsparker was proud to be among the sponsors and exhibitors of RSA 2020, which took place from February 24 to 27 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco.

Netsparker was there at booth 6465 in the North Expo – a big thank you to everyone who came to learn more about our solutions or just to say hello! We also participated in the technical sessions, with sales engineer Vince Hinojosa delivering the presentation “Scaling Up & Automating Your Web Application Security in this Brave New World”. On top of that, we had a live interview with Security Weekly – Netsparker CRO Kevin Gallagher was interviewed by Matt Alderman, talking (among other things) about the crucial role of integration and automation in scaling web application security testing. The Human Element in Cybersecurity

The theme of this year’s conference was “The Human Element”, with speakers from the industry and beyond noting the growing significance of the non-technical side of cybersecurity. Thought leaders across the board agreed that technical solutions, however advanced, are no longer enough if they don’t empower the people who use them, be it end users, security professionals, or developers. If fact, as technologies become more advanced and pervasive, so do the related security issues, and we can no longer afford to leave security to just the security professionals.

With cyberattacks now considered one of the top global threats, cybersecurity needs to be an integral part of software development, from the first line of code to the final user experience. This is the rationale behind the growing popularity of DevSecOps/SecDevOps methodologies, and Netsparker fully supports this approach by integrating web vulnerability testing throughout the software development lifecycle. When organizations are able to automate everything that can be automated, they can make optimum use of the expertise and problem-solving abilities of technical specialists.
